Resident Delegates Duties
Resident Director - Duties
- Attend the CSA House of Delegates and serve as a member of the Reference Committee.
Attend the ASA House of Delegates Meeting and ASA Legislative Conference.
Chair Resident Representative Committee: Two meetings are held, one after the CSA House of Delegates and one before or after the ASA Resident House of Delegates.
Attend CSA Board Meetings (three each year) and the meetings of any committee on which the director may serve.
Work with CSA staff regarding the residents' web site and resident delegate elections.
Submit board reports for District 15 and Residents Representative Committee for each CSA Board Meeting.
Maintain good communication with resident delegates/alternate delegates and with the CSA office through telephone calls, resident listserve and/or e-mail, and CSA Web Site.
Write an article(s) for the CSA Bulletin.
Resident Delegate - Duties
Attend the CSA House of Delegates and Resident Representative Committee meeting immediately following the House.
Represent your institution and participate in all suggested projects.
Help build a strong resident component society and become active in the governance of both the CSA and the ASA.
Support the ASA Resident Component Society and nominate one or two CSA Resident Delegates for an elected office.
Be a mentor to the alternate delegate in your district and comunicate to all the residents in your program.
Work with your resident director and the CSA office to maintain a strong resident program in California.
Attend the ASA Resident House of Delegates and Resident Representative Committee every October. ASA determines how many delegates can attend the meeting, so sign up early with the CSA office.
Attend CSA Board meetings when they are scheduled in your area. A great place to learn the governance of the Society.
Resident Alternate Delegate - Duties
Try to attend the CSA and ASA Resident House of Delegates meetings.
Be an active reader and participator of the resident list serve and the CSA Web Site.
Stay in contact with your delegate and help with projects assigned by the resident director.
Serve as delegate of your program the next year. See above for duties of a resident delegate.
