ASA is establishing a social media strategy and best practices that will go a long way in maximizing the effectiveness of our online campaigns. You will see an increase in the Society’s level of interaction with members, as you are the key audience. The new strategy will also include conducting multi-level outreach, touching base with reporters, policymakers and the general public in order to spread our messages about patient safety and the role of the physician anesthesiologist.
We believe ASA’s new strategic social media efforts will serve as a source for all audiences to get information, news and updates as well as serve as a vehicle for conversation and dialog. Social media can be an invaluable tool when used properly, and platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn can facilitate smart conversation, provide important information and disseminate messages on behalf of our members.
As ASA members, I ask that you join the online conversation taking place. Right now, your colleagues are sharing information, opinions, research and news pertinent not only to anesthesiology, but to the medical community at large.
