Complete the learning activity and self-assessment test online for each of the 13 modules that comprise this program. Upon completion of a module's evaluation, the CME certificate can be printed.
Assembly Bill 487 requires that every licensed California physician* complete 12 credits of CME in pain management and end-of-life care. Currently 13 modules are available, any 12 of which will satisfy the total required. CSA members may complete the activities at no charge; the fee for nonmembers is $30 per credit. Physicians who were licensed after 2002 have four years from the date of licensure to complete the AB 487 requirement. Please review the program information. If you need assistance, please contact the CSA office by e-mail or by phone at 800-345-3691.
The California Society of Anesthesiologists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians.
The California Society of Anesthesiologists Educational Programs Division designates this educational activity for a maximum of 13 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™. Each physician should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

This is the 13th in an educational series of 13 articles on pain management and end-of-life care. For the original 12 modules, one article was published in the CSA Bulletin for the years 2004-2006 and Winter 2007. They all are CME accredited, and any 12 of the current series of 13 modules will satisfy the CME requirement for physicians set by the California Legislature through Assembly Bill 487. Each article was written by a current or former director of a university-based pain management program in California. |
